"I wasn't an heir. I was just me," Reeve points out. But yes, if they're going to dance...

"By all means, lead on."

"True." Rufus shifts to place his hands where he needs to in order to lead, smirking at Reeve. "At least I won't step on your feet?"

"So you say," Reeve laughs, ready to follow happily.

"I'm not that bad of a dancer." Rufus sticks his tongue out at Reeve, though he's obviously not all that upset, beginning to dance to whatever beat he's feeling right now. "The last time I stepped on feet, they deserved it."

"Well, how would I know how good or poor of a dancer you are? We hardly had any formal celebrations in your tenure in the office," Reeve points out. And before that, well, Rufus had been young.

He follows along, carefully, more worried about his own grace than that of Rufus. But it turned out he still remembered the steps.

"Oh? Whose?"

"I don't think celebrations in that situation would have been appropriate. The parade at Junon was bad enough." He makes sure not to pull any weird moves, so as not to throw Reeve off, even as he chuckles. "Oh, no one big..."

But he will go into a few people whose feet he kindly stepped on and why. A few times it was even to be a gentleman with some of the lechers bothering the ladies.

No, they wouldn't have. But a lot of people had celebrated Rufus's father's death.

Reeve listens to the explanations and he bursts out laughing. Oh yes, Rufus was good at what he did.

"You're trouble, Mister Shinra. I fear I should care for my heart."

Rufus hadn't exactly not celebrated his father's death, he just had enough class not to turn it into a spectacle. And the brains to know there was much more to focus on if he didn't want to die.

"I've been trouble since we met. Are you just now noticing?"

Sometimes class was in the spectacle. Not often. But sometimes.

"I suppose I'm not as sharp as I thought."

"Reno must be rubbing off on you." He smiles, stopping the dance. "There. No crushed feet."

"Oh we both should very much hope not," Reeve answers, quite amused.

"No crushed feet at all."

Rufus laughs softly. "Reno's not that bad."

"Have you met him?" Reno counters.

[afterlaborday]

"I live with him." Rufus grins, moving to his phone to check it. "Tseng and Elena just picked up the food, so we should have food soon."

Ah, food. Reeve rises and moves to collect the rest of the clothes to put them on. He doesn't want to... Well, be seen naked by them.

Rufus seems fine in just his pants, probably because he has lived with and been tended to by the Turks for a long time, and so merely sits back and lets Reeve dress.

"Will you have to head out first thing tomorrow, or did you manage to get a bit more time off than that?"

The question earns a smile from Reeve. A big smile.

"Do you want me around more?"

"Of course." Rufus looks a bit confused at the question. "Why wouldn't I?"

"You could have plans, dear. Ones you're not telling me about," Reeve points out, moving to the food and settling. And, after a moment, he smiles and offers his hand out to Rufus. Sit in his lap, dear.

"I've already told you my plans are to lay low for a while again." He says, before chuckling softly at the gesture. "Last time I sat on your lap, you were injured and told me not to test you..."

"I'm not injured," Reeve counters. "And we know I am already tested by your very presence."

And had failed that test earlier.

Rufus chuckles, moving over as if he might straddle Reeve, though instead he leans over to kiss him softly, tone amused as he speaks. "If I sit there, we might become rabbits again."

"As if we have even learned to stop being rabbits," Reeve laughs, shaking his head.

What a silly mood they are in. Not that he cares about it so much as, you know, pleased.

"True..." Rufus moves to press the chair back so he can confortably straddle Reeve, wrapping arms around him with a little smirk on his face. "Are we going to repeat the conversation enough to get you to do that nice, sexy voice you give when you're trying to seduce someone?"

"Do you want me to use that sexy voice, or are we eating sushi?"

Because he figured he could probably do both.
