“Not you,” Reeve smiles, shaking his head. “The prize is the one you won, Rufus. Winning a third orgasm from an already tired man? Seems a victory to me, and what I licked from your mouth a trophy I was glad to steal back. People aren’t prizes Rufus. And they never would be to me.”

He isn’t Rufua’s father. The victories here are those they share.

Silver tongue applies to Reeve as well, even if the man is possibly unaware of the fact. Any ire he could theoretically could have drawn is easily dismissed with those words, and Rufus even chuckles a little. "Suck up."

Rufus then smiles, and stretches a little while leaned against Reeve, letting the man feel the movement before drawing back so Reeve can get into a more comfortable position if he desires.

"Perhaps," Reeve allows, though he disagrees with that conclusion.

When offered the chance he does move a bit, mostly shifting so he can fully lie down on the couch and pull Rufus down with him.

"I may have to request further attention like that in the future. I never thought I lacked skill in that area but you've put me to rights."

Rufus lets Reeve pull him down, stretching idly onto the man and taking a deep, calming sigh. "I told you before that you wouldn't stand a chance if I used my mouth. It's not just for nasty words, after all."

"I was wrong," Reeve agrees, reaching up to stroke Rufus's hair. "And I was wrong when I thought that you couldn't catch my attention with your toying around. I can only hope that I too was underestimated."

Right now, he could really go for two things. Water and a nap.

"Underestimated in what sense? To catch attention, or in regards to sex?" He shifts enough to lay on his hands, look at Reeve quietly. "Because both would stand true."

"Not catching attention is something I believe I benefit from," he observes as his fingers to massage the back of Rufus's neck. "But I'm glad you realize now I wasn't stroking my own ego too much when we were sniping at each other in the past."

Especially when Rufus 'tried' to seduce him. That hadn't gotten either of them anywhere.

"Mmm... do I?" He shivers a little at Reeve's massaging his neck. "Or am I just saying that because you asked me to?"

"And there's that cutting tongue of yours. I think if I'm wrong, I'd rather delude myself."

Because it's easier than being a fool. Granted he has fulfilled that role no small number of times in his life, but right now, he doesn't want to. Not with Rufus laying on him, seemingly relaxed.

That earns a snicker from Rufus, rather than his usual chuckle, and he leans forward just enough to kiss Reeve softly. "At least now you can't say you completely hate my tongue."

"I don't," he agrees when the kiss is faded and the words have a chance to settle in. He smiles at Rufus when the man pulls away and considers him.

"What I can also say," he speaks at length, "is that you don't hate my lips."

"You noticed?" He finally moves to sit up a little, straddling Reeve unintentionally as he does. "So, what do you want to do now? Just keep laying here?"

"I'm a bit tired, Rufus. It's been a long time since I've attempted anything like a marathon, and you're wearing me out. Have pity, Rufus. I'm old," he teases, a playful smile on his lips. They surely can't keep up this pace forever. Perhaps he just wants to bask in the warmth of the other man while he can manage consciousness. He's had very little sleep after all.

"Shall we retire to the bed then? More space." He trails his nails along Reeve's chest. "May have to take the sheets off and sleep on the blanket, though."

"I fear we might have to do just that," Reeve agrees. He could poke around and see if there are spare sheets. Probably has enough energy to make a bed. "Would you mind that plan?"

"No. It's fine with me." Rufus carefully stands, stretching once more. "Be warmer, too."

"Not if we are lying on top of the blankets."

Still, with Rufus standing, Reeve gets to his own feet. Takes a moment to straighten himself out before stretching a little himself. "Your bed is sort of small. We'll have to stay close."

"Is that a problem?" He grins at Reeve, starting to move towards the bedroom. "I have more blankets and sheets."

"If you can show me where the sheets are, I can change them for you," Reeve offers. He's got the energy for that. But he will be pleased to have the warmth of additional blankets and a warm body.

"Alright." He moves towards the bathroom, the sheets and other linens kept in there. "Do you want me to get anything while you make the bed? Or help you make it?"

"Water," Reeve says immediately. "And yes, help would be appreciated. But more than anything water would be my preference."

He's beyond thirsty after all of this, and the water he finished at dinner was not nearly enough.

Rufus pulls some sheets out, handing them to Reeve with a nod. "You know I have plenty of water. I'll make sure we have a few bottles for the night. If you strip the bed, I'll get the water."

"Thanks," Reeve smiles as he accepts the load of sheets before heading out to the bed.

It's pretty easy to strip the bed down, Reeve clearly has experience with how quick he goes. Not that he knows where to put the dirty ones. He manages to get the sheets mostly in place before Rufus returns with water, but clearly he could use the help making sure that the sheets are secure around the corners.

Rufus will find an out of the way place for the discarded sheets later, but seems content to set the bottles down on the dresser for the moment and move to help secure the sheets. "I'll ask Reno to wash the dirty knew sometime tomorrow."

"Oh yes, that's going to earn me so much mocking on the car ride," Reeve laughs, shaking his head. But he'll take that because in a weird way he really has earned it.


"Do you have a preference for a side of the bed when you're sharing one?"

He's known men more particular on that fact than anything else.
